This last Sunday, former Mexico City Mayor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who is the candidate for Mexican president of the Partido Revolucionario Democratico (PRD), while campaigning in the city's main square, made an issue of U.S. policy toward Cuba. He promised that Mexico would return to its tradition of a ''noninterventionist'' policy, a slap at President Vicente Fox, who's sided with the United States.
My comment: Good for Lopez Obrador. It is time that the Mexican nation had a president that defends its sovereingty and national independence, rather than being a servile lapdog of Bush and his cabal.
