Lancha de Regla

When I was 10-12 years old, I used to take the lancha with my grandmother to visit Regla, the town where she was born in 1889. I always looked forward to the trips across the bay, and enjoyed them tremendously. Abuela IA lived to be 102 years.

I also was born in Cuba and left it at 13. My parents would take me to Regla to see relatives. The lanchas were different then and the diesel smell was pervasive. Yet, I loved every second of the trip and I wished it had taken longer to get across. I'm also an artist who maintains a website(onecubanartist.com) where I display nostalgic paintings of Cuba, including La Lanchita

Thank you Mario. I also remember fondly my trips on la Lancha de Regla. I loved every minute of it.

I will visit you at your website. I love everything having to do with Cuban art.
