Cuba National Ballet Triumphs in Egypt

Cairo, Sep 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba´s National Ballet made its debut Monday in Egypt with the presentation of “The Magic of Dance” thunderously applauded by the audience at El Cairo Opera Theater, the country´s most important artistic venue.

This weekend they presented that anthology of some of the top moments of romanticism and classicism in the history of ballet.

At the end of their performance, attended by representatives of the country´s political and cultural spheres and officials of the diplomatic staff, the presence of the company´s director, Cuban Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, provoked a new wave of ovations.

President of the Opera Theater, Abdel Moneim Kamel, awarded her with the emblem of the House of Opera National Cultural Center, a recognition instituted in 1988.

After the presentations in that nation, the Cuban company will travel to Alexandria and will continue its international tour in Spain.
