Cuba to Launch Fidel Attack Book

Havana, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) A book reviewing the 643 criminal projects aimed to assassinate Fidel Castro, which were thwarted by the Cuban State Security bodies in different phases, will be launched in this capital.

Published by Ciencias Sociales publishing house, the volume "The Secret War, ZR Rifle Operation" includes the period between 1958 and 2000, states an article published Thursday by Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

The text shows diverse special weapons operations, plastic explosives and contaminated cigars among other death mechanisms, as well as the arsenal designed and delivered to mercenaries by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to carry out aggressive plans.

The book's author, Fabian Escalante Font, Havana, 1940, founded the Cuban Security bodies, in which he has held different posts until being division general.

Escalante Font is author of books on the Bay of Pigs and secret CIA wars against Cuba.
