Sudden Death Baseball Match Cuba-US Sunday

Havana, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuba Squashed South Africa 13-1 in seven-inning mercy rule shortened game, and the five-victory chain shows her efforts to win its 22nd "AAA" World Junior Baseball Championship with a sudden death match to US beginning Sunday.

The US also had an easy 11-1 walk on Spain in seven innings, Mexico sweated its 5-3 victory on China Taipei in 13 innings. and Canada batted Italy 10-0 to finish atop in Group B. It will play Panama, fourth in Group A, Sunday.

In addition, South Korea mauled Holland 9-1 and Panama upset Australia 3-0.

ROUND ONE STANDINGS: Group A: Cuba 5-0, Korea 3-2, Holland 3-2, Panama 2-3, Australia 2-3 and South Africa 0-5.

Group B: Canada 4-1, China Taipei 3-2, Mexico 3-2, US 3-2, Italy 2-3 and Spain 0-5.
