People of Nation Should Take Back Their Government

The following letter was published today in my local newspaper. I agree 100% with the writer.

This country is under attack from the inside out. Warrantless wire-tapping, mandatory ID cards that will require you to submit to government tracking, environmental devastation and resources being pushed beyond the breaking point, individual rights out with the stroke of a pen, less privacy, more fear, fewer freedoms, more weight on the already weary shoulders of the average middle-class taxpayer, illegals streaming across our borders, ports without proper safeguards, rampant fear-mongering makes me want to cry.

Voting machines at the mercy of those who would tamper with them, crushing the very freedoms they are supposed to safeguard. Americans sons are being picked off by IED’s and snipers, like the manipulated/cherry-picked intelligence that put in this lie of a war. Phone calls, knocks on the door, flag draped coffins, finger-pointing, more fear-mongering and even more threats.

Just what do they take us for? Sheep? Granted, most of us have not been as diligent in voicing our protests as we should have, and history will judge us accordingly, but it is now time to wake up. Put down the cell phone, turn off your TV and focus on what is happening to your country, community, family, to you.

How many more Americans sons/innocent Iraqis have to die for America’s oil lust? While the real threat is from North Korea, America squanders her precious resources on pursuing a false war that is obscene in every way. Haven’t you had enough?

It is time to take back this country. It is time to make your voice heard, to stop the decline of your freedoms and put this once great country back on the right path. Vote them out on Nov.7 because to do anything less is to fail your duty to your country and future generations of Americans. People should not be afraid of their government – government should be afraid of its people.
