Cuba captures Central America and Caribbean Chess Crown

Cuban Grandmaster Leinier Dominguez (2678) was crowned champion at the Central American and Caribbean Chess Championship Tournament in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He obtained 11.5 points out of a possible 13. The win assures him a spot in the Chess World Cup which will take place in November of this year in the Russian city of Khanty Mansiysk.

Cuban Grandmaster and reigning National Champion Lazaro Bruzon (2620) captured the subtitle at the tournament, and is also assured of a spot at the Chess World Cup.
