Cuban Chorus Caused a Sensation at Canadian Festival

Havana, July 13 (acn) Cuba's Nexus Vocal Ensemble won first prize and a gold medal in its category in the recently concluded Mondial Choral Loto-Québec 2007 singing contest.

Nexus also won the audience prize with a vote of 82 percent of the spectators, reports Granma newspaper.

The silver medal went to Ardesco Vocal Ensemble of Montreal and the bronze to the Chanters Group of the Church Of St. Panteleimon in Georgia.

The Quebec press praised the performance of the Cubans highlighting their professional attitude and talent as well as their energy to convey the pleasure of singing in their interpretations.

The Mondial Choral is a major festival held in Laval, Quebec, Canada and which takes place annually since the summer of 2005.
