Cuba announces special postage stamps and cancellation

Cuba’s daily newspaper Granma has reported that six stamps and a cancellation will be issued to honor the five Cubans unjustly detained in the USA for defending the people of Cuba.

Today is the ninth anniversary of the unjust jailing of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, René González, Antonio Guerrero y Fernando González.

Five stamps will have the pictures of the five Cuban heroes and the sixth will have the image of a hand and the Cuban flag.

The cancellation was unveiled at the Ministry of Informatics and Communications, with the families of the Cuban Five present. Also attending were Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, a Commander of the Cuban Revolution, and Ricardo Alarcón, president of Cuba’s National Assembly.
