Latin America Integration Team in Cuba


Havana, Sep 20 (Prensa Latina) The Second Meeting of the Council of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA) Ministers will be officially opened in this capital Thursday afternoon, attended by top-level delegations from Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Cuba.

The aim is to review the course of agreements signed in Caracas in June, the state of the implementation of the Cooperation Accords, and the ALBA institutionalization process, inked in the Heads of State Summit held in Barquisimeto, "Granma" newspaper reports.

Inspired by Libertador Simon Bolivar's ideas, the ALBA was signed on December 14, 2004 by Cuba's President Fidel Castro, and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.
