Bush, Hunger and Death

Granma

For the first time, like before every year, when the United Nations discusses Cuba's condemnation resolution against the blockade, the President of the United States announces that he will adopt new measures to accelerate the reconquest of Cuba by force.

On the other side, the danger of massive world hunger is aggravated by the recent initiative of Mr. Bush of converting food into combustibles, while he invocates strategic security principles, he threatens humanity with a new Third World War, which this time would be fought with atomic weapons.

Such themes of vital importance are the ones that the representatives of the countries which meet on October 30 are interested in, when they assemble to discuss the Cuban resolution to condemn the blockade.

In elections, where the act of voting is not mandatory, our people have pronounced their verdict with a participation of more than 95% of the electors in 37,749 electoral points, where the ballot boxes are guarded by school children. That is the example that Cuba offers.
