Cuba Plays Tomorrow in New Latin America and Caribbean Baseball League

Radio Coco has reported that Cuba’s national baseball team will debut on Thursday against Nicaragua in Maracay, Venezuela. The new league will start play today in Caracas, with Venezuela facing Colombia. Puerto Rico and Panama declined to participate. The tournament will consist of three rounds of every team against every team. Then they will have a semifinal and a game for the title.

The Cuban team roster is as follow:

Catchers: Ariel Pestano, Elier Sánchez, Yosvani Peraza.

Pitchers: Pedro Luis Lazo, Yadel Marti, Yunieski Maya, Jonder Martinez, Vladimir Baños, José Ángel Garcia, Arley Sánchez, Adiel Palma, Yulieski González, Eller Sánchez, Aroldis Champan, Norberto González.

Infield: Yullieski Gouriel, Eduardo Paret, Rudy Reyes, Alexander Mayeta, Luis Miguel Navas, Héctor Oliva Jr.

Outfield: Alfredo Despaigne, Yoennis Céspedes, Yoandry Urgellés, Osmani Urrutia, Frederich Cepeda, Giorvis Duvergel.
