Cuban daily Granma has reported the following:
Because of the passage through our country of the devastating Hurricane Gustav, heads of state and representatives of various countries have expressed their solidarity and offered help assistance.
Among them:
President Dimitri Medvedev, Russian Federation.
President Hugo Chavez, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
President Alvaro Uribe, Colombia.
The following countries have sent messages of sympathy and offers of help: People's Republic of China, Bolivia, Argentina, España, Brasil, México, Guatemala, Caiman Island, Panama, Perú, Santa Lucía and East Timor.
