Vote NO on Amendment 2

This Tuesday, November 4th, Floridians will have the opportunity to vote on Amendment 2, which would amend the Florida Constitution to define marriage and limit it to partnerships of a man and a woman. Americans United For Separation of Church and State opposes Amendment 2 and urges you to vote NO!

Florida is home to a diverse population with a wide range of religious beliefs, yet passage of Amendment 2 would impose a single religious definition of marriage upon all Floridians via constitutional fiat. We believe that each religious community should decide whether or not to sanctify marriages of same-sex couples based on its own doctrines and teachings. Regardless of where anyone stands on the issue of same-sex marriage, passing Amendment 2 would harm religious liberty in Florida and the right of the beliefs of all faiths to be regarded equally by the government.

Marriage should be decisions should be left to couples, their clergy, and their religious beliefs — not the State of Florida. Floridians must defend religious liberty and reject this amendment! For more information on why you should vote no, please visit http://www.sayno2.com/ or http://www.votenoon2.com/.

When you go to the polls on Tuesday, REMEMBER: NO on Amendment 2!
