Cuban Baseball Olympian and first WBC participant Yulieski Gourriel leads all Cuban players in the XLVIII National Baseball Series. He has a .422 batting average, 38 for 90, including six doubles, nine triples and six homers, with 19 runs scored and 18 batted in. He plays for his home team of Sancti Spiritus. At this point, I believe he will make a second appearance with Team Cuba in the Second World Baseball Classic which will be played in March 2009. Cuba will play their first round in Mexico City.
