They will face the gold medal winners of the 2006 tournament, Japan, on the first game of Pool 1, at the second round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic, at Petco Park, San Diego, California. The game will start at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday the 15th.

Yuli Gourriel was the big hero of the game. He went two for four, with a homer, a double, and four RBI's.

Yosvany Peraza went three for four. Michel Enriquez went two for three, with 3 RBI's.

Ariel Pestano hit a homer which brought home three runs.

Cuba had 17 hits.

My cousin, Yulieski Gonzalez, was the winning pitcher for Cuba.

The game lasted only seven innings due to the mercy rule. A very convincing knock out.
