Cuba's Aroldis Chapman to open tonight versus Australia

Cuba and Australia play tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern Time at the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Cuban manager Higinio Velez has announced that left hander Aroldis Chapman, who plays for the Holguin team in Cuba's 48th National Baseball Series, will be the starter for the criollos.

Aroldis has six wins and one loss this year in the first half of the 48th series. He leads Cuban pitchers with 89 K's and has allowed 42 bases on balls. His ERA is 3.75.

It will be the fourth game of pool B at the Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City.

This guy's stuff is nothing short of overwhelming.
We rave abt Price all year long, and this guy is quite a lot better than Price, reminding me of Randy Johnson

Aroldis pitched very well tonight. Seven strike outs in four innings.

Cuba did not play very well but won on a homer by Yosvany "El Gordo" Peraza.
