Dominica will continue to appeal for the United States to lift its trade embargo on Cuba.
The remark has come from Minister of Foreign Affairs Vince Henderson following a recent statement by Vice President of the United States Joe Biden that his country has no plans to lift its trade embargo on Cuba. Henderson said Dominica has made consistent calls at the United Nations level to lift the embargo, and remains committed to that call. “Dominica’s position along with Caricom is very clear. Caricom has consistently held that position and we in Dominica, we remain with Caricom on that position,” the Foreign Affairs Minister said. He also stated that the issue is, however, a matter for the U.S. government to deal with.
JG: Message to Joe Biden: The United States is totally isolated on the Cuba embargo issue. However, if you want to continue banging your head against a wall, go ahead and do it, Joe.
