Alarcon criticizes Obama

The president of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power, Ricardo Alarcon, criticized the recent declarations of President Barack Obama in regards to Cuba, reports the Associated Press.

During the closing ceremonies at an academic conference which was taking place in Ontario, Canada, Cuba's parliamentarian chief noted that Obama wants Cuba to change and to behave in accordance with Washington wishes.

Alarcon said for the first time that the new U.S. administration’s stance is “the continuation of an illegal, unjustifiable and failed policy.”

I am beginning to believe that Obama has chosen to travel the same failed path of his ten predecessors. His recently announced Cuba measures were minimal and timid. As long as Washington continues to support the genocidal Cuba blockade/embargo, I doubt very much that there will be any real progress in improving U.S.-Cuba relations.

The U.S. is the aggressor country. The embargo must be lifted unconditionally. Cuba does not, and will not do anything that would entail accepting Obama's dictates.
