On March 23-24, 2009 the Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Socialist International met at the city of La Antigua, Guatemala and adopted the following motion:
The Socialist International Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean, meeting in La Antigua Guatemala on 23-24 March 2009, in relation to the economic embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba, declares the following motion of solidarity:
The Committee expresses that the unacceptable and unfair blockade imposed on the island of Cuba by the United States should come to an end, and that this decision should be communicated to the presidents of the two countries involved, Barack Obama and Raúl Castro.

JG: The Socialist International is a worldwide organization of social democratic, socialist and labor parties. It currently brings together 170 political parties and organizations from all continents.
Needless to say, the mainstream media in capitalist United States did not report on this motion, and I only found out about it today.
Message to President Obama: another worldwide organization which does not agree with your continuation of the Cuba blockade.
