Habrase visto gente con cara mas dura

In Cuba, when I was a child, there was a popular refrain that went somewhat like the title of this post.

I am at a loss for a good translation, so if any good Spanish-English professional translator reads this post, I would welcome them to send a proper English phrase that encompasses the true meaning of what I am talking about.

It appears that the victimizer (the United States) is trying to force the victim (Cuba) to swallow some political conditions if they want better relations.

During the past 50 years the victim has had to endure a constant state of warfare: militarily, (the Bay of Pigs, illegal activities by Miami terrorists like Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles, attacks by scum organizations like Alpha 66 and Commandos F4, all created and directed by the C.I.A.); economically (the genocidal Embargo/Blockade); naval (if a ship makes a port of call in Cuba, it can not come to a U.S. port); financial, (all kinds of prohibitions and dirty tricks typical of a capitalist society).

The Cuban government estimates that the island has suffered close to 100 billion dollars in damages during the past 50 years due to the uncivilized acts of a Northern Goliath trying to beat the Caribbean David into submission.

Hillary and Obama want to set conditions for Cuba. The Cuban people would have to be incredibly stupid if they decide to accept them. They would have to stop defending the nation's sovereignty.

I think it is time to tell Uncle Sam: TAHE A HIKE!
