The fascists own Honduras right now

Fascists elements in Miami, Florida are celebrating the coup d'etat in Honduras by School of the Americas graduate, General Romeo Vazquez. He was trained in Fort Benning, Georgia. We now know what the Yankees taught him. Not a single U.S. news media organization has reported that he received his "education" in the school that has been dubbed the School of Assassins or the School for Dictators.

The United States is right now the only Western Hemisphere government that continues to keep his ambassador in Tegucigalpa, and even though U.S. law prohibits the transfer of economic aid to governments that come to power via a coup d'etat, the government of Barack Obama has not cut off economic or military aid to Honduras.

The United States has had a very long history of supporting coup d'etats in Latin America. It is much easier for American corporations to exploit the natives when you have a dictator in power.

Let us hope that the constitutional president of Honduras, José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, can return on Thursday to reclaim his office. Latin America may have to take military action to force his return.
