An open letter to U.S. Representative Kendrick Meek

Sir:

Under normal circumstances and if the Cuba issue did not exist, I would vote for you for the Florida U.S. Senate seat because:

1) Your mother was a good person whom I admired when I lived in West Dade County.

2) On some of the U.S social issues that are important to me, I tend to agree with your position.

I just sent my absentee ballot to my county registrar of elections and I wrote-in NOTA (none of the above) for the Florida U.S. Senate seat.

I can not vote for you because:

1) You, like Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist, support the Cuba blockade. What are you and those who support the blockade accomplishing? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Did you know that the United Nations General Assembly last year condemned the Cuba blockade by a vote of 187-3? Even our NATO allies voted against the United States. Imperialist arrogance is what keeps the U.S. blockade of Cuba on the law books of the United States.

2) You receive money from the fascist US-Cuba Democracy PAC of Miami-Dade County. How does it feel to be in bed with former supporters of Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista? That is an insult to Cubans inside and outside the island.

3) You are a member of the corrupt Gang of 66.

Sincerely,

Jorge Gonzalez
