Cuba doesn't give up easily. Its fourth game in the pre-world and pre-panamerican tournament, currently being played in Puerto Rico, is a case in point.

The criollos were trailing 2-1 when the bottom of the sixth inning started. And then, Yoennis Céspedes came to bat, with two of his team mates on base. He hit the ball out of the park. The score suddenly changed to 4-2. Canada was stunned! They would not score again.

In an interview after the game Yoenis said: "You can not beat Cuba until you have 27 outs. An embrace to my Commander in Chief, and kisses for my mom and son."

The winning pitcher was my cousin, Yulieski González, who went seven and two thirds innings, and struck out ten Canadians. Cuba has now four consecutive victories.

Today, Cuba rests, and tomorrow they will play the Netherlands Antilles, a game that was postponed earlier because of rain. Vladimir García will start for Cuba.

In Group A, Cuba has for wins and no losses, and in Group B, USA has the same statistic.
