The worst thing that happened this past Tuesday with the takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives by the ultra right fanatics is the accession of Ileana Ros-Lehtinen to the chairmanship of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Do not despair. La Loba Feroz, the rightful title given by our brothers and sisters inside the island to this vendepatria who is at the service of the Yankee imperialists, does not run our beautiful Pearl of the Antilles.
Marco Rubio is just a pretty face and a lightweight that will be at the bottom of the seniority totem pole in the U.S. Senate. He will have very little power in a body that is still controlled by the Democrats, the lesser of the two capitalist evil political parties.
On the positive side is the fact that many of the corrupt members of the Gang of 66 went down in flames and were permanently retired from the U.S. House of Representatives. Gone are many of the cash-for-votes whores who received payments from the US-Cuba Democracy PAC of Miami.
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Debbie 'Dubbya' Wasserman-Shultz will continue squawking their never ending garbage pronouncements about Cuba. Let them squawk. They do not run Cuba and U.S. laws do not have extraterritoriality. 52 years of resistance to the attacks of the empire will not come to an end inside the island just because La Loba Feroz has a new soapbox to get on.
The government in Cuba is not perfect, but it is a great improvement over the one headed by a U.S. puppet, who was kicked out of the island on January First, 1959. The capitalist corruption of a Fulgencio Batista now resides in Miami and New Jersey.
