One courageous Cuban journalist

Osviel Castro Medel has written a very good article titled "Los nocivos silencios del caso Frederich Cepeda." If you read Spanish, I encourage you to read it.

Because there is no freedom of the press in Cuba, all press organs are state controlled, we owe Osviel a debt a gratitude for trying to bring light to this sorry incident of authoritarianism in Cuban Baseball.

It is now very clear that Higinio Velez is the culprit for banning Frederich Cepeda from playing in Cuban baseball. He is more interested in control than having the best Cuban players in the baseball diamond. How sad, but Cuban baseball is going like the country, downhill.

Update: 10:12 a.m. November 23, 2010: Frederich Cepeda is back and will be playing with the Gallos of Sancti Spiritus!
