Venezuela to USA: extradite or prosecute Luis Posada Carriles for his terrorist acts

USA protected terrorist Luis Posada Carriles

Venezuela reiterated at the United Nations the demand for extradition of terrorists who committed criminal acts in that country and live protected in the United States, among them Luis Posada Carriles.

During a Security Council debate about the work of several committees related to the fight against terrorism, Jorge Valero, Permanent Representative of the South American nation at the UN, mentioned the case of Posada Carriles.

He said that this terrorist, author of the sabotage in 1976 to a Cuban airliner that killed all 73 people on board, remains free on U.S. soil.

"We reiterate to the U.S. government -- said the diplomat -- the request for extradition of Posada Carriles or, failing that, that he be prosecuted for terrorist acts, which he confessed."
