Wikileaks: The Honduras coup d'etat cables

The cables that were sent by U.S. ambassador to Honduras, Hugo Llorens, after the military coup d'etat in that Central American nation, have been published by Wikileaks.

Here is the text of two of them:

Translation:

"The military, the Supreme Court and the National Congress conspired on June 28 (2009) in what was an illegal and unconstitutional coup against the Executive."

"From our perspective there is no doubt that the rise to power of Roberto Micheletti was illegitimate," the document contains the diplomat notes that "the arguments made by proponents of the coup are often ambiguous, have no substantive validity "and, in some cases, are" overtly false."

JG: The illegal rulers of Honduras are still in power thanks to the inaction of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. They both failed to support the constitutional president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya. They looked the other way after the coup d'etat. Knowing that coup d'etat s are one of the favored acts of the imperialists, I would not be surprised if it is found that the U.S. was actively involved, behind the scenes, in this illegal grab of undemocratic power.
