HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (ACN) The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, sent South African leader Nelson Mandela a photo taken during their visit to the central Cuban province of Matanzas in 1994 with a dedication that reads: “To Nelson Mandela: Another Bronze Titan.”

The photo was displayed on Friday during the opening of a photo exhibition entitled “Reasons”, which covers different stages of the life of Fidel Castro.

The exhibition includes 81 photos by five Cuban photographers and it was inaugurated at the Museum of Cultural History of South Africa in Pretoria, venue of the ongoing 17th World Festival of Youth and Students.

Present were Thiago Vieira, president of the event’s Organizing Committee; the Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Angel Villa, and his South African counterpart in Cuba, Patse Justice Pitsu; Jorge Risquet, member of the Central Committee of Cuba’s Communist Party (PCC); and Liudmila Alamo, First Secretary of the Young Communist League (UJC) of Cuba.
