US Federal Assistant Attorney Refused to Press Criminal Charges against Posada Carriles

US Federal Assistant Attorney Caroline Heck-Miller ”the one that carried out the prosecution process in Miami, Florida, against the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly imprisoned in the United States since 1998” refused to press criminal charges against international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

According to Granma newspaper, during the resumption of the trial against Posada Carriles in El Paso, Texas, Miami-based Homeland Security lawyer Gina Garret-Jackson admitted that, in spite of a request by the Department of Homeland Security, Heck-Miller refused to press charges against the international and self-confessed terrorist.

Answering to questions by Posada's attorney, Garret-Jackson ”who led the case of Posada's asylum in 2005” said that she personally asked Heck-Miller to press criminal charges before going ahead with his asylum request at that time.

"I asked Heck-Miller to consider a criminal process against Posada. However, she showed no interest and I didn't ask her anymore", she said.

Heck-Miller was the US Attorney that insisted on taking the case of the Cuban Five to trial and she refused to take it away from Miami. She also played a key role in their receiving harsh and unjust sentences for defending Cuba from terrorist attacks organized and carried out from the United States, like those planned by Posada Carriles.
