Cuban website Cubadebate reports that "during the trial against Luis Posada Carriles, where he is charged with being a liar and which is being held in El Paso, Texas, U.S. prosecutors put on the stand a witness that is supposed to demonstrate that he lied about how he entered the United Sates in 2005."

"Gilberto Abascal, undercover agent for the FBI, and a member of the crew of the Santrina, will testify about the entry of Luis Posada Carriles into the United Sates in March 2005 aboard that ship, property of Santiago Álvarez Fernández Magriñá, and not like the terrorist had alleged to the the U.S. immigration officials. Posada had told the agents that he entered the United States between Matamoros (Mexico) and Brownville (Texas)."
