USA's hate rhetoric

The similarities between the United States of 2010-2011 and the years leading to the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany during the 1930's are astounding and frightening.

This usually happens when a country is falling apart. We are falling apart economically, politically, militarily and morally. Sarah Palin's “No retreat, reload!” is a perfect example of today's pervasive hate mentality in the United States. The glamorization of violence is preached from churches and from extremist leaders in the Republican Party and the Tea Party. Civility does not exist in the USA anymore.

In the 1930's it was the Jews. Today, it is the immigrants, gays and lesbians, progressives and the “baby killers.” Guns are everywhere and provide exorbitant profits to so-called entrepreneurs who peddle them to sane or insane people. Lying is an accepted behavior, as long as it advances certain political ideologies.

Homo sapient is no longer evolving into a better and more enlightened species. We are descending into a hell that we have created ourselves and we are not doing anything to put a stop to it. Sapient is no longer using his brain for the betterment of society, at least in the USA.

We must start with a repeal of the so-called rights guaranteed by the second amendment to the U.S. constitution. Have things improved since the massacre at Columbine? You know the answer to that. How many more massacres must we endure? Haven't we had enough?

We must stop being people who are overwhelmingly preoccupied with “my rights.” When will we start being preoccupied with our responsibilities? The world that we are handing down to our grandchildren is not a pretty one.

Instead of “reload,” grow up!
