Egypt and Cuba

Those who compare Cuba to Egypt do not really know what they are talking about. In Egypt we had a regime that stayed in power based on the support of the United States government. Mubarak was like Batista; he had no support among the masses. Only the empire supported him. Once the support was withdrawn, Mubarak, like Batista, had to flee.

Lets go back to the early years of the 1990's. The U.S.S.R. and the socialist block collapses. Immediately, the imperialists in Washington D.C. and the Miami gusanos started talking shit that Cuba was next. It did not happen.

Then came the Pope's visit in 1998. The same crowd started squawking “His Holiness brought democracy to Poland. Cuban communism will fall in no time at all.” It did not happen.

July 2006. Due to emergency surgery, Fidel Castro transfers power to his brother. Immediately, the C.I.A. declarations start flying: Fidel has weeks or months to live. It did not happen.

Cuba, like any other country, is not perfect. I will give you something that you can take to the bank: “The Cuban government has the support of the Cuban people.”

Yoani Sanchez, put that in your pipe and smoke it!
