WASHINGTON — Americans aren't pleased by what they see going on with the debt-ceiling negotiations in the capital.
Half of those surveyed in a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll say President Obama and the current Congress are doing a worse job than their predecessors in dealing with the nation's problems, and four in 10 call the situation the worst they've seen in their lifetimes. At least two-thirds accuse congressional Republicans and Democrats of putting their own political interests ahead of the country's best interests.
