Comparsa de Ciego de Ávila

The city of Ciego de Ávila will be the host of the national celebration in Cuba this year to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the 26 of July attack on the Moncada Barracks by Fidel Castro and his followers.

This famous Cuban conga has been around for a long time. It must me over 60 years old. I remember it from when I was 10 years old and heard it many times in "Los Carnavales de La Habana." Anyone who can add to the history of this rhythmic tune is welcome to leave his/her comment.
