Cuba defeats The Netherlands 4-0 and Captures the Championship Crown of the World Port Tournament

How Team Cuba Scored

At the top of the third inning of the criollos started with the designated hitter of the nine-squad from the Greater of the Antilles, Alexander Malleta; he hits a double to center field.

Erisbel Arruebarruena at bat now. He bunts the ball to third base. Fielding error occurs. Men on third base and first base for Cuba.

After Andy Ibañez strikes out, Yulieski Gurriel comes to bat and hits to left field. RBI. Cuba scores its first run of the day. It would eventually be the winning run.  Men on first base and second base.

Eriel Sanchez at bat. He hits to left field. One more RBI.

Cuba 2, Netherlands 0.

Cuba's Eighth Inning:

Jose Miguel Fernadez, hit to left field. Yadiel Hernandez, hit to left field. Two on base.

Alexander Malleta comes to the plate again. Double to right field. Two RBI's.

Cuba 4, Netherlands 0.

Overall, Cuba connected 12 hits.

Cuba's pitching did a superb job too. Wilber Perez, the starter and ultimate winner of the game, together with excellent reliever Raciel Iglesias, held the tulips to only three hits.

Rob Cordemans was the losing pitcher (he is human, after all) and Iglesias was credited with the save.
