Santo Domingo, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (CBC), Dominican Juan Francisco Puello, said that they remain hopeful to have a Cuban team at the 56th Caribbean Baseball Series. "Cuba joined the founders of the tournament and won the first edition in 1949, it is a member of the house," the CBC president told Prensa Latina news agency.

Before referring to the reasons hindering Cuba's long-awaited return to the Caribbean Baseball Leagues, Puello stressed that Cuba is well-known for its baseball tradition and quality, for its strikes, and home-runs.

Since the foundation until 1960, Cuban baseball teams took part in 12 championships and won seven of them, recalled Puello.

Cuba's participation in the event was interrupted from 1961 to 1969; Cuban baseball teams did not return to the competition due to the abolition of the professional sports in Cuba.
