They have a nice little outdoor museum right at that crossing point. The bulldozer that was used to derail the train, several of the train cars with a bunch of artifacts in them, and a really cool monument with several toppled concrete columns representing the toppling of the Batista regime.

It was awe inspiring just to stand in the spot where it all happened.

Thank you for the additional info. I was 14 years old when the battle of Santa Clara took place. Without the leadership of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, the Cuban Revolution would have triumphed, but it would have taken a little longer to topple the US-supported tyrant. What a revolutionary genius he was. He had the biggest cojones ever seen in Latin America.
