The most famous and important photo of the Vietnam War

The Fall of Saigon
Defeat of Yankee imperialism

The Fall of Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, was accomplished by the People's Army of Vietnam and the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, (also known as the Viet Cong).
April 30, 1975.

The event marked the end of the Vietnam War and the start of a transition period leading to the formal reunification of Vietnam as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,
governed by the Communist Party of Vietnam.

JG: But fourteen years earlier, April 17, 1961,  the first defeat of Yankee imperialism in Latin America took place at the shores of Playa Girón, Cuba. A division of  mercenary CIA-trained gusanos from Miami was defeated in 66 hours.
