An unforgettable night at a building that is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2014.
The Florida Orchestra hosted Cuba's top three percussionists. There was something for everyone.
The selection of music and instruments was excellent and the audience was extremely happy with the performance.
At the end, they were on their feet with shouts of "VIVA CUBA LIBRE!"
Thank you, Florida Orchestra, for proving that affordable music for the masses is possible. $10.00! What a bargain!
The house was brought down with the last two numbers: Log Cabin Blues composed by George Hamilton Green, and African Welcome Piece by Michael Udo. One of my favorites was Dos Hermanos by Agustin Gómez Lavín. The Batá drummers were superb.
IF YOU PUT IN ON, THEY WILL COME!
