When a capitalist sharpie sends you a written form titled “Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk” you should beware of their intentions. They want to blame YOU before anything happens.

Here is a the perfect example:

(1)  The risk of injury from injury from the activities [Chess] involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular skills, equipment and personal discipline may reduce the risk, the risk of serious injury does exist.
(2)  I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISK, both known and unknown, even if arising for from the negligence of the releases [i.e. sponsors] or others and assume full responsibility for my participation [in the event.]

You would have to be incredibly stupid to sign such a form. It was written by one scummy capitalist lawyer.

Which reminds me of William Shakespeare’s dictum:

“We begin by killing all the lawyers."
