Reporte/Update: Cuba 8, Venezuela 4

Cuban pitcher Freddy Asiel Alvarez has retired the first six Venezuelans batters that he has faced.

That is always a good sign. But in a baseball game anything can happen. We will wait and see.

Cuba leaves a batter in scoring position twice in two innings. Lost opportunities. Yulieski Gourriel struck out.

On the positive side: Cuba has three hits, Venezuela, zero.

Freddy Asiel has given two bases on balls on the bottom of the third inning. That is bad news for Cuba.

Venezuela scores its first run. Those two BB came back and bit Freddy on the butt.

Fredereich Cepeda, the sleeping volcano, has erupted!  3-3.

And he keeps pouring it on. 4-4. Five runs batted in!

The Venezuelans do not counter-attack in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Cuba 8, Venezuela 4.

A big applause also for Cuba's relief pitching. Norge Luis Ruiz, has pitched for 3.1 innings. ZERO CARRERAS LIMPIAS ALLOWED.
