Corporate Welfare is alive and well and residing in Polk County, Florida

July 29, 2015

"Earlier this month, [Polk County] commissioners voted unanimously to provide Wal-Mart a 10-year, $12.4 million property tax break. The package applies to a pair of 1 million square foot distribution centers the company plans to build on 188 acres it will lease at Interstate-4 and U.S. 27." (The Ledger)

JG: Gee, I didn't know that Walmart was a pauper corporation! Call me a cynic, but I wonder how much the commissioners got under the table?
