Two Paladar Restaurants (privately owned) in Cuba are closed by the government with accusations of being involved in laundering money from abroad

The case was reported by the Havana Times.

Now that Cuba appears to be starting its first baby capitalism steps, emulating China, you can expect an increase in crimes in Havana and other large cities. Be careful if you go.

I did read of one case where a family that visited Havana had been charged, by a dishonest taxi-man, $50.00 to go from the Airport to El Vedado. The normal charge is around $15.00.

I am very glad that I canceled my Spring visit to Cuba. An instinct or premonition told me 'don't go.'
