One more! Keeping track of the silly articles about Cuba on the Internet

The latest was published by an outfit named Town Hall. The title of it was "Trump wins support of dissidents (in Cuba!)."

For those of you who are not familiar with the Cuba issue, here is some information.

Since January 1, 1959, the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the USA government has tried to overthrow the Cuban government.

They have tried just about everything:

1) A Miami exiles mercenary invasion. Financed and directed by the CIA. Defeated in less than 66 hours by the Cuban people.

2) An embargo, which is correctly labeled El Bloqueo (the blockade) in Cuba, which was started by womanizing John F. Kennedy. A total failure. It has been condemned by the civilized world at the General Assembly of the United Nations for 25 years in a row, the most recent on October 26, 2016.

3) Numerous attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro. All discovered and foiled by Cuba.

4) State sponsored terrorism, by the United States government. Did not accomplish much, except add suffering to many Cuban families.

What is left?

Silly articles in the Internet. They are mostly dreams and wishful thinking. The Cuban people inside the island laugh at them.

Dissidents? Always directed and financed by the U.S. government. They are left zeros in the island and the Cuban people laughs at them, the same way that they laugh at clowns.

The so-called dissidents receive welfare checks from the USA government. Starting with Dwight D. Eisenhower and ending with Barack H. Obama.

Respectful & Friendly Relations YES, edicts NO!

The USA imperialists still don't get it.

Despite its total isolation and the repudiation of 191 civilized nations at the General Assembly of the United Nations this past October 26, hundreds of silly articles are being written by the MSM of the declining empire.

Cuba does not, and will not, accept orders from anyone in Yankeeland.

Do not be confused or decieved

There is a private, for profit, Cuba Journal in the World Wide Web.

2) Not for profit: (no advertising). In December it will celebrate its 11th anniversary.

Our aim is to inform you and educate you about the Cuba issue. We do not try to sell you stuff.

Do not let yourself be a victim of scams or frauds, so common in capitalist societies.

Is the Cuba embargo becoming a huge capitalist business under Barack Obama's Democratic Party?

Will the Democratic Party get commissions until Jan 20, and then said commissions will go to the Clinton Foundation?

To me, that smells like camouflaged corruption.

Remember than in hyper-capitalist USA "el bissneo" is the most important thing.

They don't care if it stinks to high heaven, as long as some darling of the Administration is getting huge piles of money.

I bring this up because in tonight's Google News Aggregator it is being reported that some huge travel website is being given the OK to organize travel to Cuba. I see  a lot of smoke, and where there is smoke there is fire.

Again, in a capitalist society what is important is making piles of money.
I am sure that Hillary, after 20 January, will say: "What difference does it make? "

US Recognizes its Isolation with the Cuba Blockade

October 27, 2016

Elio Delgado Legón

HAVANA TIMES — In a speech given before the UN General Assembly, the United States Ambassador to this international organization, Samantha Power, recognized the fact that the US remained isolated from the rest of the world in its position with regard to the blockade (the term the Cuban government uses to refer to the  embargo) on Cuba and that this policy hasn’t been successful and therefore the US wouldn’t vote against the Resolution presented by Cuba as it has in previous years, but would abstain. (Havana Times)

JG: Imagine, you are at the dance, and no one wants to dance with you. That is a very clear picture of what happened on October 26, 2016, at the General Assembly of the United Nations.

On the Cuba issue, there is progress

Barack Obama has recognized the futility of voting NO on the resolution introduced by the Republic of Cuba at the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

An old Cuban refrain states "El Cuartico Está Igualito."

If you translate it literally, which is not a good way to have a good translation, it means "The room is the same."

This morning, I clicked on the URL which connected me to the UN Web TV. It was a clean connection and their various interpreters did an excellent job of interpreting 'on the fly' the speeches of the various diplomats.

On the other side of the coin, the so-called MSM, or Main Stream Media of the USA made a lot of noise about the fact that the Obama administration (and its water carrier Israel) had changed their vote from NO to ABSTAINING.

Result of the two last yearly votes.

2015: Yes 191, No 2,  Abstaining 0.
2016: Yes 191, No 0, Abstaining 2, (USA and its water carrier).

Nothing has changed, really. "El Cuartico está igualito."

The U.S. Congress, in its never ending arrogance, has not lifted the correctly named blockade, which is not carried out by the U.S. Navy, but by many processes of human intimidation carried out by the thugs of the government of Barack Obama. Samantha power is not Mother Theresa.

Barack Obama is, like his predecessor, not worthy of trust. Must Cubans say that, except the fascists in Miami and New Jersey.

Obama has not changed his true objective of trying to restore corrupt capitalism to the largest island in the Caribbean.

The Cubans have made it very clear that they will stick with Cuban socialism.

When the Yankees talk about "democracy" they are talking about the system in Cuba during the years of  Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958).  That is the type of democracy that they have always supported and liked.

They also liked and supported, Somoza in Nicaragua, Trujillo in the Dominican Republic, Duvalier in Haiti, Diem in South Vietnam, Marcos in the Philippines and the Shah in Iran. They currently support the despots of Saudi Arabia.

Name a dictator, and you will always find the Yankee imperialists supporting him, with money and arms.

Name a government that tries to make life better for its citizens, and you will always find the Yankee imperialists opposing it.

It is that simple.

Bernie Sanders endorsements in Florida

Our Revolution endorsements in Florida:
NO on Amendment 1 - Rights of Electricity Consumers Regarding Solar Energy Choice
Amendment 1 is an attempt by Florida's monopoly investor-owned power companies and Koch brothers-backed front groups to deceive voters into unknowingly passing anti-solar power policy. If passed, it would establish a false assumption that solar users are a financial burden to non-solar users, limit the expansion of solar, implement restrictions and unfair fees that would make solar more expensive, and hurt consumers by denying a cost effective way to lower power bills. Please vote NO on Amendment 1.
YES on Amendment 2 - Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative
Amendment 2 would allow licensed state physicians to prescribe medical marijuana to individuals with specific debilitating diseases. Patients who gain relief through cannabis use, especially the terminally ill, shouldn’t have to choose between treatment and breaking the law. Medical cannabis is vitally important to thousands of Floridians. Please vote YES on Amendment 2.
Dwight Bullard for State Senate, District 40
The son of two educators and members of the Florida House of Representatives, Dwight has followed in their footsteps by becoming a community organizer, a highschool teacher, and in 2008, a representative of District 118. In 2012, he was elected to the Florida Senate, utilizing his strong passion and commitment to improving Florida’s education system. Dwight embodies his belief that the people deserve a voice that identifies with them and is proud to serve.
This is Our Revolution, and we will only bring about the change we need in our country if all of us are deeply involved. That's why today we're asking you to commit to vote in this election.

191 Civilized and Sovereign Nations

Today, we witnessed another huge charade and farce, as usual. It was produced and presented by the government of the United States.

I respectfully call upon the General Assembly of the United Nations to:

1) Expel the government of the United States from the General Assembly.

2) Impose sanctions on the United States government. Such sanctions will be assessed by the United Nations upon the government of the United States, payable to the Republic of Cuba, as reparations for its genocidal blockade against the island.

3) Consider moving the United Nations headquarters building to a neutral and honest state, Switzerland.

Sanders is prepared to be a liberal thorn in Clinton’s side

By John Wagner October 24 at 2:03 PM

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Sen. Bernie Sanders, a loyal soldier for Hillary Clinton since he conceded the Democratic presidential nomination in July, plans to push liberal legislation with like-minded senators with or without Clinton’s support if she is elected — and to aggressively oppose appointments that do not pass muster with the party’s left wing.

In an interview, Sanders said he and other senators have started plotting legislation that would achieve many of the proposals that fueled his insurgent run for president, including a $15 federal minimum wage, tuition-free public college, an end to “mass incarceration” and aggressive steps to fight climate change.

Russian Parliament Rejects US Blockade on Cuba

Moscow, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) The State Duma (Russia''s lower house of parliament) approved today a resolution rejecting the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba.

The document, joining other 10 resolutions on previous occasions by the Duma, is aimed to the UN General Assembly, parliamentarians of all UN State members and international legislative organizations.

The Duma legislators condemn the policy of the U.S. government for more than 50 years against Cuba, stresses the resolution, unanimously adopted.

That policy remains against the interests of the Cuban and American people, and all humanity.

This is the longest running policy in the history of a system of sanctions to achieve illegitimate goals.

The Russian Lower House has expressed support for the Cuban people, which after resisting the limitations of humanitarian nature for many years, knew to preserve its freedom and sovereignty.

The Russian legislative addressed all parliaments of the world to demand the United States to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade to Cuba.

The Duma's stance is derived from its principles to reject the criminal practices of imposing unilateral sanctions and all kinds of blockades in the economic, commercial and financial sphere, conducted without approval by the UN Security Council, he stated.

28th United States Ambassador to the United Nations

One Man's Opinion

If Barack Obama, or his successors, continue with acts of interference in the internal affairs of the Cuban people, the government of the Republic of Cuba ought to consider putting an end to the "normalization" of diplomatic relations, and the prompt booting out of the island of Yankee directed groups like World Learning. Cuba's sovereignty comes first.

Mississippi businesses eye opportunities in Cuba

               , The Clarion-Ledger, 8:15 p.m. CDT October 23, 2016

Mississippi businesses are exploring ways to establish relationships in Cuba.

Toward that goal, nearly 150 Mississippi business leaders gathered in downtown Jackson Thursday for a Doing Business in Cuba Summit hosted by the Mississippi Development Authority.

“As regulations change across the board, they’re seeing this as a potential opportunity to increase their exports," said Jeff Rent, MDA communications director, "and increased exports means that we’re making our economy stronger, we’re selling more goods and we have a market that is out there and if people in that market want Mississippi-made products then it’s really beneficial for the entire economy.”

Bloomberg calls the Cuba "embargo" pointless and outdated.

The arrogance of the USA government today is very similar to that of the Nazis in the 1930's.

I am not surprised that Paul Ryan or the Miami Herald say that they want the "embargo" to be continued. They are uncivilized SHITHEADS. They can continue throwing their temper tantrums. The civilized world, even the NATO countries, laughs at them. At the UN and outside of it.

Prensa Latina: Cuba Denounces at UN Persistence of US Blockade Despite New Measures

United Nations, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Permanent Mission to the UN denounced today the persistence of the economic, trade and financial blockade of Cuba by the United States, despite the new measures announced by the President Barack Obama to change it.

In a press release circulated here, the diplomatic mission described as positive the sixth package of measures issued by the White House, but insisted on its very limited nature.

It is guideline to open transactions already authorized in previous packages, keeping the prohibition of US investments in Cuba, except in the sector of telecommunications, the strict limitation of US exports and the restriction on imports from Cuba, thew text warned.

According to the diplomatic entity, it does not cover either the financial sphere, because the possibility for Cuban banks to open accounts in US entities remains unchanged.

In general, the new measures are more beneficial to the United States than to the Cuban people. The truth is that the blockade persists, the text said.

In today's press release, the Cuban Permanent Mission to the UN considered the guideline a significant step forward as part of the process to lift the blockade and the improvement of the bilateral relations, because it recognized the Cuban Government as legitimate interlocutor and also the benefits of bonds observing civilized coexistence.

The UN General Assembly will analyze again, on October 26, a bill that demands the end of the blockade.

NACIONES UNIDAS, octubre 18.

JG: Just because Barack Obama gets in front of a TV camera and microphone and says that relations have been "normalized" DOES NOT MAKE IT SO. He is a habitual liar.

Only when the Cuba embargo has been repealed by the U.S. Congress, then we can start talking about normalized relations. Normal diplomatic relations equal normal commercial and financial trade between two civilized countries. Unfortunately I do not include the USA in my list of civilized nations.

Just because the Yankees chose to use the word embargo, it does not hide the genocidal nature of the blockade, which is the correct word for Cuba to use.

I blame Bill Clinton for having signed into law, THE BLOCKADE OF CUBA. Putting lipstick on a pig does not make it pretty.

Big Difference!

In the USA the government always  tells you who the enemy is.
The Cuban people figured it out very fast after 10 March 1952:
the Yankees were allies of Batista.

A Very Limited Step by Barack Obama

For me, this weekend was wonderful, because I was able to meet my nephew, who was born after I left Cuba in November of 1961. He visited Central Florida and we spent a lot of time talking about the family, among other things.

Family meetings are always great affairs, and this one was that and much more. I will never forget it.

On the area of Cuba-USA relations, Barack Obama issued a new Presidential  directive, which allows people who visit Cuba, to bring back with them Cuban rum and cigars, with no restrictions, when they return to the USA.

If the U.S. Government, especially the U.S. Congress, wants to really have normalized relations with Cuba, they are going to have to do a lot more than lifting the restrictions on the number of bottles of Havana Club rum and boxes of Cohiba tobacco cigars that I can bring back when I visit the island.

The U.S. blockade/embargo has to be lifted immediately and without any preconditions, since Cuba is the aggrieved and assaulted party.

If you are bilingual, and are fluent in Spanish, I recommend that you read:

Convivencia civilizada sin olvidar la historia

at Cuba's Juventud Rebelde newspaper.  I agree with the premises of the article 100%.

Cuba's sovereignty is not for sale.

U.S. citizen writes to the Washington Post: Lift the Cuba trade embargo

Having recently returned from a two-week volunteer humanitarian trip to Cuba, I was angered to read Josh Rogin’s Oct. 3 op-ed, “Security risk in the Cuba opening” regarding the supposed danger posed by allowing direct flights to the United States from 10 Cuban airports. In particular, I resented his quoting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) that “Cuba remains a state sponsor of terrorism” even though the Obama administration rescinded that designation in May 2015. Mr. Rogin insinuated that Cuba had insufficient airport security (although two Transportation Security Administration officials have reported that “all 10 airports meet the minimum standards for security under U.S. and international law”). He suggested Cuba remains a haven for bad actors with ill intent toward the United States, although there is no evidence of this.

It should be obvious to all in the United States, including Congress, that the 55-year embargo was a failed attempt to change Cuba’s political system and should be lifted as soon as possible. The people of Cuba would benefit greatly from open trade with the United States. Those who oppose such efforts are rooted in the thinking that led to the freezing of relations after the Cuban revolution and the tension that existed for at least a decade thereafter. Op-eds such as this one only fuel continuing distrust of the Cuban people and their government.

Barack Obama continues to give refuge and protection in Miami to international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles

Barack Obama is a capitalist, and as such he hates communist Cuba. If the terrorist is employed by the Yankee CIA, he immediately becomes a "good terrorist." What a hypocrite the USA has in the White House right now. And things will not change when Hillary or Trump are installed after the quadrennial November election farce.

Top 10 Reasons to Hate Capitalism

AUGUST 13, 2014
Top 10 Reasons to Hate Capitalism
by GARY ENGLER [CounterPunch]

10. Capitalist corporations suffer from a personality disorder characterized by enduring antisocial behavior, diminished empathy and remorse, and are rewarded by shareholders for acting that way. If corporations could be sent to a criminal psychologist’s office they’d be diagnosed as psychopaths and locked away forever.

9. Capitalism encourages greed. But greed is only good for capitalists. For normal people it is anti-social and soul destroying, not to mention very bad for our communities, which rely on altruism, compassion and a generalized concern for others.

8. Capitalism is a system of minority privilege and class rule based on the private ownership of means of livelihood. This gives a few rich people the power to buy and sell jobs, which means they can build or destroy entire communities that depend on those jobs.

7. Capitalists praise freedom and individualism, but they destroy freedom and individualism for everyone but themselves. The vast majority of us who work for a living are daily asked to uncritically follow orders, to act as if we are machines, and limit our creativity to what profits our bosses.

6. Capitalists denigrate cooperation and collectivism, but create mass production processes that rely on both from workers. Their system requires us to be cogs in a giant profit-making machine, but because they fear the power this gives us we are told working together for our own interests is illegitimate and bad. Thus capitalists undermine unions and other organizations that encourage workers to cooperate with each other and act collectively.

5. Capitalism requires the largest propaganda system the world has ever known to convince us it is the only system possible. It turns people into consumers through advertising, marketing, entertainment and even so-called news. Millions around the world are employed to use their creativity to twist our feelings of love, desire, human solidarity and fairness into tools of manipulation, so that ever more profits can flow into the hands of a tiny minority.

4. Capitalism is a system in which the principle of one dollar, one vote, dominates that of one person, one vote. Those who own the most shares (bought with their dollars) control giant corporations, many of which are more powerful than all but a few governments. Rich people also use their money to dominate the elections that are supposed to give us all one, equal vote. Under capitalism those with the most money are entitled to the most goods and services as well as the most say in directing our governments and our economy.

3. Capitalism proclaims the virtue of naked self-interest, but self-interest without regard for morality, ecology or common sense leads to environmental degradation, destruction of indigenous communities, colonialism, war and other forms of mass destruction. Self-interest leads capitalists to seek profit absolutely everywhere, regardless of the damage done to other people and the health of the planet’s ecosystem. Self-interest leads capitalists to destroy any rival economic system or way of thinking (such as indigenous communal land use and respect for nature) that can be a barrier to their endless quest for profit.

2. Capitalism is not a friend to democracy but ultimately its enemy. When pushed, capitalists choose capitalism over democracy. If people use democracy to weaken the power of capitalists the rich and powerful turn to various forms of fascism in order to keep their privileges.

1. Capitalism is a cancer taking over our planet. Capitalists make profits from global warming, from destroying our oceans, from pumping ever more chemicals into the atmosphere and from patenting everything they can, including life itself. Only by getting rid of capitalism can we rescue our environment.

JG: I agree with all that was said above. But to truly understand how capitalism works, you have to read "The Capital" by Karl Marx. It is not easy reading. Maybe that is the reason why there are very few true Marxists.

Full Disclosure: I once joined CPUSA (Communist Party USA) in Portland, Oregon. The Oregon communists were very decent, honest and nice people, specially Hank Curl. We used to go together to the Portland Docks to give out free issues of People's Weekly World to the workers when they finished their daily shift. What soured me on CPUSA was the never ending letters asking for "donations" coming from HQ.

Because of the above, I was rewarded by my low intelligence wife with a son who is a cheerleader for capitalism. We are distanced from each other at the present time.

Category Four Hurricane Matthew is threatening Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba

The Cuban government always does extremely well in preparing the island against hurricanes. The reason for that is that Cuba has a socialist government that truly cares about its people.

Does anyone remember what happened with Katrina in the USA? Dubbya effectively told the people: "You are on your own. We are a capitalist country."

The final death toll for Katrina was at 1,836, primarily from Louisiana (1,577) and Mississippi (238). More than half of these victims were senior citizens.
