Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick Relate Factual Truths About the Cuban Revolution

Oliver Stone

Peter Kuznick

“U.S. interests and prestige were dealt another devastating blow when revolutionaries, led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, toppled Cuba's U.S. friendly dictator Fulgencio Batista on New Years Day, 1959. American corporations had dominated the island since 1898. In 1959 they controlled more than 80 percent of Cuba's mines, cattle ranches, utilities and oil refineries, 50 percent of the railroads, and 40 percent of the sugar industry. The United States still retained its naval base at Guantánamo Bay. Castro quickly set about reforming the education system and redistributing land. The government seized more than a million acres from the United Fruit Company and two other American companies. When the United States tried to strangle the new regime economically, Castro turned to the Soviet Union for aid. On March 17, 1960, Eisenhower instructed the CIA to organize a “paramilitary force” of Cuban exiles [mercenaries] to overthrow Castro.”

“Later in the decade, the [U.S.] Air Force devised even more grandiose schemes. ...Lieutenant General  Donal Putt disclosed plans for missile bases on the moon. He also said that the United States could erect missile bases on more distant planets.”

“...independent journalist I.F. Stone astutely noted that the Latin [and Spanish] word for “moon” is luna and suggsted that the military establish a fourth branch for space warfare and call it the Department of Lunacy.”

About The Two Major Capitalist Parties in the U.S.

When it comes to corruption, the Democratic Party is the worst. Número Uno.

When it comes to promoting and starting wars, the Democratic Party is, by far, the worst. Don't let Barack Obama do it again!

When it comes to doling out welfare checks to people who are lazy and who do not want to work, the Democratic Party has no equal.

When it comes to coddling criminals, it is a tie between the Dems and the Reps.

When it comes to the Cuba issue, there is no difference between the Dems and the Reps, they are both equally bad. They both hate Cuba, because it has proven that a better country is possible.

Gracias, Fidel & Raul.

You can't blame Socialists or Communists for the sad current state of affair in the U.S. The two branches of The Capitalist Party did it, all by themselves.

When you vote for a Democrat or Republican you are encouraging and applauding them.

Organize, agitate!

POLITICS: "Poli" a Latin word meaning "many"; and "tics" meaning "bloodsucking creatures."

The Headline which you read in the Yankee & European Imperialist press and what it really means

The title that you may actually see is something like this: Cuba’s Ladies in White finally pick EU rights price.

Most likely, you will read it in the Miami Herald, another capitalist right-wing newspaper or you will probably find it in the EU, of course. For the really dumb or those with low intelligence, EU stands for European Union.

And this is the perfect example for what I am trying to explain to you.

Shortly after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1st, 1959, the imperialists began to realize that something was not right in Cuba.

The then Secretary of State told Dwight D. Eisenhower: “This revolution is not like the ones that we usually support. In those revolutions the new ruler usually kisses the ass of POTUS (acronym for President of the United States). That is not happening with Fidel Castro. I smell a rat!”

But, back to the titles and what they really mean.

What the Yankees and the Europeans call a ‘prize’ is really the huge welfare checks that the capitalist Americans and Europeans pay to their so-called dissidents inside Cuba. Those checks run in the thousands of Dollars and Euros. In some cases they may be millions. The recipients will live like millionaires inside Cuba, if the island is dumb enough to let the sum into the country for putting in play the process of destabilizing the Cuban Revolution.

Are the capitalist in the U.S. and Europe dumb or what?

They have been paying those “prizes” for more than 52 years, and the U.S. and Europeans have not been able to overthrow the chosen system of the Cuban people.

I have to conclude that they are very gullible. Those “dissidents” are running a regular con job on the Yankee and European imperialists.

When they collect the next check, the dissidents will surely tell Uncle Sam: “We are just about getting ready to overthrow Raul Castro. NEXT CHRISTMAS IN HAVANA!”

Post Script: Psst! Dissident = Mercenary. The Cuban people know that. It is so obvious.

What Is the Cuban School of Ballet? Alicia Alonso and Mikhail Baryshnikov Speak.

Alonso

Baryshnikov

“To speak of the Cuban School of Ballet, we first take note of its roots. ...I will mention that Cuba's theatrical dance tradition goes back to the eighteenth century, with a string of Spanish and other European companies that regularly visited the country and helped create a dance public.”

“Professional Cuban ballet emerged decisively in 1931. ...we founded the Ballet Alicia Alonso in 1948. This was the company that became the Ballet Nacional de Cuba.”

“When I danced in the Soviet Union in 1957 and 1958, I returned to Havana to share my experiences from Moscow, Leningrad and Riga with our dancers and ballet masters.”

“Cuban's are dancing people. Dance matters to us, and it matters deeply.”

And here is what Mikhail Baryshnikov has to say:

“What makes Cuban dancers stand out is their ethics. They have a respect for ballet from an early age. It's been said before that no one is born a dancer; you have to want it more than anything. These Cubans want it and feel priviledged to be a part of it. They give themselves completely.”

Ten Reasons Why Cuba Is In Uncle Sam's Terror List

There have been so many sources that in the last six months have requested that Cuba be removed from Uncle Sam's 'state sponsor of  terrorism' list  that I have lost track of the numbers.

Everybody and their cousins now that Cuba does not sponsor terrorism. As a matter of fact, millions of people throughout the world proclaim that the United States is the first and major sponsor of state terrorism. The atrocities committed by the U.S. in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya and Syria, either directly or indirectly, is more than enough proof that the United States is indeed the only one and major Evil Terrorist Empire in our planet Earth. And do not forget all the terrorist activities of the major water carrier and helper of Uncle Sam: the genocidal Israeli Zionists.

What are Cuba's ten major sins?

1. Having overthrown Uncle Sam's major puppet, General Fulgencio Batista.
2. Having carried out a major Socialist revolution, as big as those carried out in Russia, China and Vietnam.
3. Not kissing the ass of the United States.
4. Defending the sovereignty and independence of the island.
5. Being a major leader of the third world.
6. Sending doctors to help people, rather than troops to subjugate them.
7. Having 188 countries on its side at the U.N.who demand that the genocidal U.S. embargo be ended.
8. Being a little country that is admired, rather than being condemned and repudiated as is the U.S.
9. Being a simple and humble nation rather than an arrogant bully, as is the U.S.
10. A country that does not use hate and violence as its major policy.

I could fill ten more pages.

A person that I am acquainted with told me this year that the United States will be punished for what is doing. I responded  "It is happening already."

I pity the good American people for having such horribly bad government.

1963: How Uncle Sam Gave Cuba 62 Million Dollars to Rescue 1,163 Miami CIA Mercenaries

Original Title of the Article: US-Cuban Diplomacy, Nation Style.

The article was written by Peter Kornbluh, the director of the Cuba Documentation Project at the National Security Archive of George Washington University.

Published in the April 29, 2013 edition of the Nation Magazine.

When Fidel Castro sat down with James Donovan in 1963, did he know that the humanitarian mission  was being overseen by the CIA?

If back then the U.S. and Cuba got involved in meta diplomacy (at the highest level) and employed pragmatism in exchanging the Miami CIA mercenaries for a very large sum of money, the same can be done today in the case of the Cuban Five and Allan Gross. Do an exchange of Gross for the Cuban Five based in responsible humanitarianism and common sense diplomacy and reciprocity.

Will American capitalism be able to ever overcome its hatred toward Cuba? They have not been able to do it during the past 54 years.

The Cuba Embargo, A U.S. Wasted Opportunity

TheAlternativePress.com

Dolores Rowen

Friday, April 19, 2013

In 2012, only 29 percent of Americans felt that the 52-year-old trade embargo on Cuba should remain a US policy. The majority of Americans believe that the economic embargo should be lifted. It is even more interesting to know that many Cubans look favorably on the US and want to see an end to this ineffective and archaic policy. The question therefore is if so many Americans and native Cubans support an end to the embargo, why does it still exist? The answer is not far-fetched. It exists mainly because the large Cuban lobbying constituency that desires an end to the Castro regime actively lobbies to keep such policies in place. Yet those that advocate for a continuation of this policy may not realize that this embargo is ultimately a lost economic opportunity for the United States. Cuba has resources such as sugar, cocoa, nickel, and fertile soil – all of which should appeal to US businesses.

Who Defeated the Nazis in WWII?

I will give you two hints. It was not the army of Winston Churchill and it was not the army of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The Brits and the Yankees were Johnny Come Lately's to the struggle against Nazism in Europe.

Red Army

“The lack of outside support may have left the Soviets weak, but they refused to collapse. Despite suffering catastrophic losses in the early months of the war, the Read Army defeated Germany in the Battle of Moscow in the fall and winter of 1941-1942. For the first time, the mighty German war machine had been stopped.”

And here is what F.D.R. told Churchill:

“... the Russians are killing more Germans and destroying more equipment that you and I put together.”

The Almost Bankrupt Empire (ABE) = (USA), Has Recognized that Nicolas Maduro Won the Presidential Election in Venezuela

Yesterday, I picked up a copy of the major mouthpiece of American capitalism, The Wall Street Journal.

In their editorial page they had four of them. The last one was titled “The Mess in Caracas.” It had the usual garbage put out by fanatical capitalists about countries that are embracing socialism and repudiating capitalism.

The list in the Western Hemisphere is growing: Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua. There will be more countries in the future, as capitalist policies are beginning to unravel and collapse, first in the European Union, and eventually from there it will spread to the United States, the lair of the true evil empire.

It is inevitable. Capitalism is unsustainable. Too much greed, too much violence, too many criminals. Socialism offers hope for the people. Capitalism only offers hope for millionaires, billionaires and big transnational corporations. The house of cards will come down, eventually. The process has already started.

The editorial in question had did to say: “... Mr. Capriles [the right wing fascist favored by ABE] came within 235,000 votes in the officcial count...”

This is their way of saying “our candidate lost. He came in second.”

235,000 votes is a very difficult task to overcome.

99.12% of the votes cast have been counted. Nicolas Maduro received 50.66% of the vote, and his openent, the right-winger Henrique Capriles received 49.07%.

The voter turnout rate was 78.71% of those eligible to vote.

How Cuba's Working Class Financed the Historical Moncada Barracks Attack on July 26, 1953

JG: The publisher/editor of Cuba Journal was only nine years old when the attack on the Moncada Barracks took place. It was the begging of the end for US-supported dictator and puppet General Fulgencio Batista Zaldívar. The Yankee imperialists had no knowledge back then of what was about to hit them. They had governed Cuba through pliant puppets since May 20, 1902, the day when they had imposed a corrupt neo-colonial capitalist system on the Cuban people. A third war for national independence would start on July 26, 1953. It would succeed.

What many people don't know is that the historical attack was financed by some of the best of Cuba's working class. A group of very dedicated Cuban Heroes formed  “The Movement.” Fidel Castro Rúz was their leader.

Fidel was captured after the attack ended in failure. His judicial trial would start on September 23, 1953. He expressed at the time, in court, that he had not collected one million dollars from former Cuban president Carlos Prío Socarras, a lie that was propagated by Colonel Alberto del Río Chaviano, a Batista henchman.

Title of the Granma Article:
26 of July, 1953 - One million dollars that never existed.
By: MARTA ROJAS - Page  4.

Here are some of the heroes of Cuba's working class, who financed the attack.

Fernando Chenard Piña
Worked as a photographer.
Sold his camera and photo graphical equipment at his studio
for 1,000 pesos and gave the proceeds to The Movement.
Assassinated in the Moncada jail by Batista's henchmen.

Jesús Montané
Contributed 4,000 pesos from his savings
as a worker at General Motors.

Oscar Alcalde
He pawned his laboratory “Tión” for 3,600 pesos
and liquidated an accounting office.

Renato Guitart
Killed at the Moncada,
gave 1,000 pesos to The Movement.

Ernesto Tizol
Gave a chicken farm to The Movement.

Pedro Marrero
Gave money he borrowed from a lender,
sold his living and dining room furniture,
and pawned his salary at a beer factory

Elpidio Sosa
Sold his job as a treasurer at an important company
and gave the money to The Movement.

José Luis Tassende
Made similar sacrifices ant gave the money to
The Movement.

Abel Santamaría
Pawned his car.

16, 489 pesos were donated to The Movement, plus some other minor amounts. Peso by peso, and quarter by quarter, less than 20,000 pesos were used to arm the 175 men who would attack the Moncada Barracks. 20 other men, who had been trained, were left behind.

Granma, printed edition, Friday, April 12, 2013.

JG: In the United States of America, in the so-called and failed American Dream, to do just about anything you have to have “investors.”  The nine Cubans who were mentioned above were true patriots and heroes, who invested their love in Cuba's dawning future. It became a reality on January 1st, 1959.

Glory to those who fell in combat at the Moncada Barracks and also to those who were brutally murdered afterwards. They will live on forever in the immortal pages of Cuban history.

A Note From The Phantom

Dear Neighbor

If you rely on Social Security or disability
payments, you should know that president
Obama is proposing a  new gimmick that will
affect your income. He is calling it the

“CHAINED CPI.”

Normally, CPI stands for Consumer Price
Index. Obama's new gimmick stands for:

CUT PEOPLE'S  INCOME.

Your Soc. Sec. or disability payments will be
much less when you get cost of living
adjustment with this new Obama gimmick.
He is planning to steal money that belongs to
you with his new proposal.

Write to U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster &
U.S. Senators Bill Nelson & Marco Rubio
and ask them to

VOTE AGAINST THE CHAINED CPI

when it comes up for a vote in Congress.
Ask your friends & relatives to do the same.

United Nations Human Rights Chief: Shut Guantanamo

GENEVA – The United Nations' top human rights official pressed the U.S. on Friday to close Guantanamo Bay prison, strongly criticizing the indefinite detention of inmates in the facility.

President Barack Obama pledged to shutter the prison shortly after taking office.

Navi Pilay, the U.N. high commissioner for human right, said she is deeply disappointed Washington hasn't closed the facility. She urged all branches of the government to work together. Pilay said the continuing indefinite incarceration of detainees amounts to arbitrary detention and is in clear breach of international law.

Cuba Gears Up for First Free Trade Industry Zone

Cuba on Tuesday unveiled rules for its first free trade manufacturing zone, a vast $900 million project being paid for mostly by Brazil in the port of Mariel near Havana.

The Mariel Special Development Zone, a major trial balloon being floated by President Raul Castro's government, is slated to feature manufacturing operations both for export and for the Cuban market, as well as a megaport that would take over shipping now done in Havana.

The government on Tuesday published a legal decree in the Official Gazette detailing rules for the area and its operations.

Brazilian multinational Odebrecht is handling the infrastructure on the project, and Brazil is providing $640 million in financing, with Cuba handling the rest.

Castro, 81, has taken steps to modernize some elements of the economy, such as trimming state payrolls and allowing more types of self-employment, but the state remains firmly in control of most economic activity.

It was not immediately clear when manufacturing in the new free trade zone would begin, but some port operations will start this month.

A Very Young Fidel Castro...

In this photo published by Granma on Saturday, a very young Fidel Castro is shown in the middle of the top row. He was organizing his followers before the historical armed attack to the Moncada Barracks on July 26, 1953. It would be the beginning of the end for Yankee puppet General Fulgencio Batista. Victory was achieved on January First, 1959. CUBA WAS FINALLY FREE.
